Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what personal information The Business Cup collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and your rights. The Business Cup is founded by Mike's Tennis Academy and delivered by 12 Degrees Event Management.
Who we are
The data controller for information collected on this website is 12 Degrees Event Management, Cambridge, United Kingdom. Mike's Tennis Academy works with us to deliver the events and receives the information it needs to do so.
For any question about your information, email jen@12-degrees.co.uk.
What we collect
When you complete the form on this website we collect what you give us. That means your name, company, work email, phone number, the location you are interested in and anything you write in the message box.
Depending on what you tell us you are interested in, we may also collect:
- Teams: the number of teams, your team's standard and whether you would like the optional coaching hour. When bookings open, we also collect the team name, players' names, shirt sizes and invoice details.
- Sponsors: the type of sponsorship you are interested in.
- Clubs: your club's name, number of courts and catering facilities.
- Suppliers: your business name, what you supply, the area you cover and your website.
If you enter a team for someone else, please make sure they are happy for you to give us their name and shirt size.
Why we use it
| What we do | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and send you dates, venues and entry or sponsorship details for the locations you are interested in | Legitimate interests: you asked us to get in touch |
| Take and manage team bookings, arrange shirts, the draw and the event day, and send invoices | Contract: we need it to deliver what you have booked |
| Keep financial records | Legal obligation |
| Tell you about future Business Cup events | Legitimate interests, or your consent where the law requires it. You can opt out at any time. |
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
- Mike's Tennis Academy, which delivers the tennis and runs the draw.
- Host clubs, which receive team names and the names of players attending.
- Suppliers who make team shirts, which receive names and sizes only.
- Service providers who run parts of this website and our business for us: Netlify (website hosting and form storage), Google (web fonts), our email provider and, when bookings open, our payment provider.
Some of these providers, such as Netlify and Google, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they protect it with safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and register-interest forms: up to two years from our last contact with you, unless you book.
- Bookings and invoices: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting.
Photographs at events
We take photographs and video at events to share on this website and on social media. We will tell everyone attending on the day, and you can ask the photographer not to take your picture, or ask us to remove one afterwards.
